CERSA organised a conference on the Digitization of Money: The end of Cash? This interdisciplinary conference was touching at the social, economic, and political issues related to the progressive replacement of physical money (cash) with electronic money, and its implications on individual privacy.
I was invited to give a talk on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, where I explained the different perspectives of Bitcoin as “store of value” versus Bitcoin as “means of payment” —and how both are currently improperly fulfilled by this cryptocurrency.
